On June 4 we organized the ‘Japan- The Netherlands Pharmaceutical Online Conference’.

Please find the presentations here.

The conference has been organized in collaboration with DUJAT, with presenters from The Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA), O&M Movianto, Baggerman Pharma Consult, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, and Port of Rotterdam.

The Netherlands offers an extensive life sciences and health ecosystem including 3100 research and development, 420 biopharmaceutical companies, 8 university medical centres, 13 universities and 26 campuses. This ecosystem is supported by a very strong logistics backbone with world class infrastructure such as the port of Rotterdam and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and many logistics service providers specialised in pharma and medical devices logistics.

Deciding on your pharma supply chain can be a complex matter. You must first understand the market and regulatory environment before you can setup a clear business strategy. That business strategy will allow you to design a flexible and efficient operational structure. Especially the regulatory environment is crucial. In order to import your pharmaceutical products, you will need product marketing authorization, an EU marketing authorization holder and an EU manufacturer (importer).

If you are planning to enter the EU market, and you are seeking advice and assistance, feel free to contact the Holland International Distribution Council (HIDC). HIDC and the experts within the HIDC network look forward to support you so you can enter the EU market with an efficient supply chain that is compliant with EU regulations.
