Bobux is a privately-owned children’s footwear company that has been in operation since 1991. Bobux are a global team that have a global headquarters in Auckland, New Zealand with employees located in England, Germany, Denmark, Australia, Indonesia and a current selling partner network throughout Europe, USA and Asia Pacific.
With the desire to move to a 3PL model in the immediate future, Bobux has been introduced to the Holland International Distribution Council (HIDC) through New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. HIDC was asked to help find a logistics partner that will provide the best overall service and value to Bobux with the added ability to grow with them as they increase sales in the European market. In January 2019 HIDC and Bobux started discussing steps to find a suitable 3PL.
Based on the requirements from Bobux, HIDC has suggested five logistics partners and have visited them together with Bobux during a factfinding mission to discuss the solutions and get a sense for compatibility.
Andrew Sharp (CEO Bobux) states that “by partnering with a 3PL in the Netherlands, Bobux is able to reduce time and complexity for shipments to customers throughout Europe – being a central port for goods coming in, to a well-connected centre for goods going out. From large distributors, to small retailers to individual consumers, the Netherlands offers a quick and cost effective service that helps Bobux and our customers alike”.
“Axell logistics was chosen on brand fit, service model and of course on the cost to serve package they put together. They understand our need to have product to consumers quickly and accurately and were in the process of building an extension into their ecommerce offering that suited Bobux very well”.
“The service we received from HIDC was excellent. New Zealand is a long way from Europe and we didn’t have a large amount of time to spend in market. HIDC took time to understand our needs and gave us a number of service providers – each that could have done the job well. It was a hard choice to narrow down to the final one, but the guidance we received helped us all the way to signing the documents. I would thoroughly recommend their service to businesses looking at expanding into Europe”.
Bobux works really hard every day to make sure their children’s footwear are the best in the world for growing feet. In 1991 Chris and Colleen Bennett designed the world’s first all leather ‘Soft Sole’ shoe for their daughter, Chloe, and it’s been a story of innovation and phenomenal growth ever since. Today, Bobux strive to learn more about healthy foot development, and leverage this knowledge – paired with great design aesthetic – to design kids’ shoes that are genuine objects of desire for mums and dads around the world. Bobux love good design. They love challenging themselves to design shoes that are both stylish and good for kids.
