Processing personal data of customers or vendors
Personal data of customers or vendors are processed by NDL for the following purpose(s):
- Administrative purposes;

- Throughout the term of the agreement and afterwards only in our financial records for at most 7 years.
Processing personal data of (association) members
Personal data of association members shall be processed by NDL for the following purpose(s):
- Administrative purposes
- Implementing the membership agreement
- Matchmaking with foreign transshipping companies (of other potential customers of the member concerned)
- Matchmaking with other members
- Events, newsletters and other information provision.
The foundation for these personal data is:
- The membership agreement;
In the interest of the above objective(s), NDL may ask you and your co-workers for the following personal data:
- Given name
- Surname prefix
- Surname
- Position
- Address
- City or town
- Phone number
- Gender
- Date preferences
- Dietary requirements.
Your personal data shall be stored by NDL for the above processing purpose(s) for the period:
- Throughout the term of the agreement and afterwards only in our financial records for at most 7 years.
Processing personal data of newsletter subscribers
Personal data of newsletter subscribers are processed by NDL for the following purpose(s):
- Informing the person through news releases.

- Permission via registration on the website;
In the interest of the above objective(s), NDL may ask you for the following personal data:

Personal data of potential members, partners and other interested parties shall be processed by NDL for the following purpose(s):
- Newsletters and other information disclosures
- Introduction to other parties, subject to advance oral or written agreement
- Focused matchmaking, subject to advance oral or written agreement.
The foundation for these personal data shall comprise:
- Oral permission, business cards provided and/or LinkedIn connections
- Legitimate interest in promotional activities of NDL and the concerned party.
In the interest of the above objective(s), NDL may ask you for the following personal data:
- Given name
- Surname prefix
- Surname
- Position
- Phone number
Your personal data shall be retained by NDL for the above processing purpose(s) for the period:
- While you are considered a potential member, partner or other interested party. If a party is no longer interested in staying in touch, the personal data shall be deleted.
Processing customer personal data for consulting and/or matchmaking services
NDL processes customer personal data for consulting and/or matchmaking services toward the following objectives:
- Newsletters and other information services
- Introduction to other parties, following oral or written contact
- Targeted matchmaking, following oral or written contact.
These personal data shall derive from:
- Oral permission, business cards provided and/or LinkedIn connections
- Legitimate interest in promotional activities of NDL and the party concerned.
To achieve the objectives listed above, NDL may request the following personal data from you:
- First name
- Last name prefix
- Last name
- Position
- Phone number
- E-mail address.
NDL will store your personal data to be processed as mentioned above for:
- Throughout the period you are seen as a customer receiving consulting or matchmaking services. If a party indicates they are no longer interested in additional contact, the personal data will be deleted.
Providing personal data to third parties
We may share the data you provide to us with third parties, if this is necessary or desirable, in the interest of the objectives described above.
We work with third parties for administrative purposes and to disseminate news releases. NDL agrees on processing procedures with these parties (processors) to safeguard the security of your personal data.
In matchmaking with prospects and matchmaking with members of the association, we may provide data from members, potential members, stakeholders and other interested individuals to third parties, both within and outside the EU. NDL will notify these parties in advance orally and will give you the opportunity to decline this option.
Nor will we share the data you provide with other parties, unless required and permitted by law. One example would be if the police were to request us to provide (personal) data to support an investigation. In such a case, we are legally required to assist and to supply these data. We may also share personal data with third parties, if you authorize us do so in writing.
Security
We have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data from being processed unlawfully; our measures include the following:
- We access all our systems via usernames and passwords
- We anonymize and encrypt personal data, when cause arises
- We make back-ups of personal data to recover them, in case of physical or technical incidents
- We regularly test and evaluate our measures
- Our staff are informed about the importance of protecting personal data.
Rights concerning your data
You are entitled to access to or rectification or deletion of the personal data we have received from you. You may also object to having your personal data (or part of them) processed by us or by one of our processors. You are also entitled to have the data you provide transferred by us to yourself or directly to another party at your instructions. We may request you for identification before we comply with these requests.
If we have your permission to process your personal data, you have the right to revoke this permission at any time.
Complaints
If you have a complaint regarding how your personal data are processed, please contact us promptly. We would deeply regret, if we were unable to reach a mutual solution to your complaint. In any case you are entitled to submit a complaint to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, which is the regulatory authority regarding privacy protection.
