Navigating through the European markets
If you want to enter the European market with your products it’s important to understand what this market looks like and which regulations you have to deal with in different countries.
There is a huge difference in dealing with member states of the European Union in comparison with non-member states. But even within the EU, every country has its own national legislation and rules, for example its own tax rates and labour regulations. Moreover, every European country has a diffeent business culture asks for its own approach.
Whe it comes to logistics, you need to ask questions such as: Which is the best airport or port to use? Is it better to use road, rail or barge to ship the products to the hinterland? Where should I establish my distribution centre? Besides pure logistics related topics you also need to consider taxes and other matters. European VAT system is rather complex. Each member states sets its own VAT rates with in a European framework. The VAT compliance requirements involve detailed record-keeping, regular VAT returns, and audits. Hence dealing with VAT regulattions, especially in cross-border transactions within the EU, requires an effective administrative solution. Additionally, customs regulations and product-specific responsibilities must also be considered.
The experts of the HIDC team can guide your through these challenges and other challenges and help you understand the market better and guide you to make the right decisions.

We could have done all the research ourselves, but we didn’t. This would have taken me 2-3 months longer. And without HIDC I am not sure if we would have come up with the solution for ‘Importer of Record’ for our shipments and might have made some mistakes.
