Brain Corp wins the HIDC Innovation Award 2026

Persbericht

Zoetermeer, 24 June 2026 – On 23 June 2026, the third edition of the HIDC Innovation Award took place, an event organised by Holland International Distribution Council (HIDC) dedicated to groundbreaking ideas that contribute to smarter and more sustainable supply chains.

Held at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, the event brought together logistics professionals, innovators and technology experts. Six innovative companies took the stage for a powerful five-minute pitch, presenting their solutions in the fields of AI, asset control, warehouse management, last-mile optimisation, smart charging and sustainable fuels.

Six innovative pitches

The six participating companies were:

  • Brain Corp – a specialist in AI robotics, offering an autonomy platform that helps companies turn their AI ambitions into tangible results on the work floor. More than 50,000 robots worldwide are currently powered by Brain Corp’s platform.
  • Connected Load Carrier – provides a data-driven approach to supply chain management. By connecting assets across the chain, the company increases operational efficiency and enables real-time visibility, compliance and data-driven decision-making in one platform.
  • Davanti-WICS – delivers advanced warehouse management solutions that contribute to higher service levels and improved customer satisfaction. Its cloud-based WMS uses machine learning and deep learning and is known for fast and reliable implementation.
  • FincoEnergies – supports transport and logistics companies in making their fleets more sustainable through fuel and emissions reduction solutions. From HVO blends to biofuel swap programmes, FincoEnergies offers a broad package to structurally reduce CO₂ emissions.
  • Smappee – develops smart charging and energy solutions for B2B sites. With intelligent energy technology, battery storage and smart algorithms, Smappee helps companies optimise energy use, reduce costs and increase flexibility in their charging infrastructure.
  • Wuunder – offers a smart shipping solution that grows with its customers. Wuunder manages the entire chain, from checkout to returns, and provides flexible modules that can be deployed separately or as a complete solution.

Brain Corp convinces the jury

An expert jury, chaired by Liana Philipsen, European Director Warehousing at Mainfreight, selected Brain Corp as the winner of this third edition of the HIDC Innovation Award.

Michel Spruijt, President of Brain Corp, presented a solution that makes AI directly applicable on the logistics work floor: Automated Inventory Intelligence. Using real-time inventory data, AI analyses and concrete action recommendations, the solution enables companies to make faster and smarter decisions — without additional infrastructure and from one single platform.

“The range of innovations presented today demonstrates the strength and future-readiness of our logistics ecosystem,” said Remco Buurman, CEO of HIDC. “From smart charging and asset control towers to AI-driven inventory tracking and last-mile optimisation, these companies are making tangible contributions to an innovative, sustainable and resilient logistics sector.”

An annual platform for logistics innovation

Following a successful first edition in 2024, the NDL Innovation Award has grown into an annual initiative. Once again, the event provided a platform for forward-looking solutions that help the logistics sector operate in a smarter, more sustainable and future-proof way.

The HIDC Innovation Award 2026 was made possible in part by the support of ABN AMRO, DPD Nederland, Mainfreight, and the Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij (BOM).
